Compounding

Compounding is a practice in which a pharmacist, upon a prescription order from your provider, combines, mixes, or alters ingredients of a drug to create a medication tailored to your individual needs.

Your health care provider may prescribe a compounded drug when commercially available products do not meet your needs. Preparing a paste or suspension from crushed tablets is one example of compounding. Likewise, adding flavoring to a medication is also compounding.

Marshland Pharmacy offers basic compounding services. If you are in need of a compounded medication, contact us for more information.
